Information and resources showing you how to use the Crown Court Digital Case System (DCS) is now available on GOV.UK see link below.

There are training guides and videos to help practitioners get up to speed before national rollout of DCS is completed by 31 March 2016.

Practitioners need a secure email account to access the online service, which will reduce the need to handle paper case material across the criminal justice system.

Take training before attending court

It is recommended that you complete the training before you attend court for the first time with a digital case.

You will find that the training and guidance materials on GOV.UK will provide you with all the information you need to successfully use DCS. Practitioners can find out more details on how to:

  • start the application process to obtain a secure email account (CJSM)
  • access the DCS live and training environments
  • register for DCS webinar training
  • refer to DCS quick reference guides and interactive training videos
  • contact the DCS help and support desk

Quick guides and videos

The DCS quick reference guides and interactive training videos cover a range of topics. This includes helping you learn how to access, prepare and present case material digitally.

Practitioners will be given access to a test case on the DCS Training Site following attendance of a training webinar.

If you would like to be given access to a test case now to familiarise yourself with the application then please contact the CJS Efficiency Programme see below.
