From October 2019, Office for National Statistics (ONS) are responsible for publishing official statistics on the private rental market. ONS aim to develop these statistics to allow users to have a better understanding of the private rental market.

Recent and upcoming publications

The release calendar shows the VOAs planned publication dates for the coming year. We encourage users to check this schedule regularly for revisions. Publication of our statistics happens at 9:30am on the stated day of release.

Due to therolloutof new dataand ITsystems during this year, there will besome alterations to the regular schedule of publications in 2023. An updated release schedule will be confirmed shortly.

Publications made by the VOA that arent official statistics are released as ad hoc statistics. This includes:

  • experimental statistics
  • supplementary datasets related to our official statistics
  • data in support of the VOAs operational reporting

Corporate procedures and standards

We follow the UK Statistics Authoritys Code of Practice for official statistics when producing our Official Statistics. Further, to improve confidence in our statistics, we have engaged with the Best Practice and Impact Division of the Office for National Statistics and are working closely with their Quality Centre to ensure our Quality Assurance procedures we use for our publications reflect best practice.
