Following the meetings a Downing Street spokesperson said:

The Prime Minister held separate bilateral discussions with a number of European leaders in the margins of the Supporting Syria conference in London today.

He saw the Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borissov, Austrian Chancellor Werber Faymann, Slovakian Prime Minister Robert Fico, Swedish Prime Minister Stefan Lfven, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Belgian Prime Minister Charles Michel, Estonian Prime Minister Taavi Rooivas, Polish Prime Minister Beata Szydlo, and the Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras.

In each of his discussions, the situation in Syria and the need to reach a peaceful political settlement was discussed. On the refugee crisis there was agreement that action must be taken swiftly to stem the flow of refugees from Turkey and other neighbouring countries.

On the UK renegotiation there was agreement on the need to continue working together, with a view to reaching solutions at the February European Council based on the proposals from Donald Tusk.

This was also reflected in a meeting between the Prime Minister and the European Council President, where they discussed the draft texts and agreed progress had been made in all 4 areas but there was more work to be done to nail down details ahead of the February European Council.
