This revised direction requires the council to continue taking steps to improve its childrens social care services, including co-operating with the DfE-appointed Childrens Services Commissioner, Matt Dunkley CBE.

It follows areport by Ofstedthat judged the overall effectiveness of the councils childrens social care services to be inadequate.

This direction replaces the earlier statutory direction issued to the council in May 2021.
