Providers are no longer required to buy or retain paper copies of the Legal Aid Manual following a consultation with your representative bodies.

Alternative resources are available for you to use and these are listed below.

Contractual requirements set out in our standard terms for civil and criminal providers to have access to the current Legal Aid Manual is ending. This applies to both the printed and online versions.

Digital manual closing

Access to the digital Legal Aid Manual will be closed by Thomson Reuters on 31 August 2015.

Subscribers eligible for a refund will be contacted by Thomson Reuters and future subscriptions will be cancelled.

Where do I go for guidance?

All the information and regulations contained in the current Legal Aid Manual can be found on GOV.UK or see links below.

We will also be working with your representative bodies over the summer to develop a new index with clear signposting to the guidance you need. This will be made available on our website.

This will help you find all the regulations and information contained in the current Legal Aid Manual.
