27 October 2022: the CMA has published updated energy licence modification appeals guidance, following consultation.

This guide has been prepared to assist participants in licence modification appeals made to the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) under the Gas Act 1986, the Electricity Act 1989, the Electricity (Northern Ireland) Order 1992 or the Gas (Northern Ireland) Order 1996 (together, the Acts). It should be read in conjunction with the Acts and the energy licence modification appeals rules.

This guide replaces CC15 Energy Licence Modification Appeals: Competition Commission Guide, except for appeals that began before 30 October 2017.
