Guidance: Report packaging data

Environment Agency

Under EPR for packaging, organisations that supply packaging may need to report their packaging data. To do this, you need to create an account.

Compliance schemes also need to create an account.

If you already have one, sign in to your account.

What you can do in your account

You can use your account to:

  • tell us your organisation details
  • report packaging data
  • tell us if youre working with a compliance scheme

Who can create an account

You can create an account to report packaging data if your organisation:

  • supplies packaging to the UK market
  • imports and discards packaging in the UK
  • is a third party, such as a compliance scheme, that works with organisations that supply packaging

To create an account for an organisation, you must be one of the following:

  • the director or company secretary
  • a partner
  • a sole trader
  • a member of a limited liability partnership

Once youve created an account, youll be able to invite other people. You can give permission for another person to do things on your behalf within the account.

Getting approval to submit data

Before you can submit data, the environmental regulator will need to approve your account. It may take them up to 28 days to do this.

Once theyve done this, youll be an approved person and it will be your legal responsibility to make sure that the data your organisation submits is as accurate as reasonably possible.

If you give someone else permission to submit data on your behalf, the regulator will need to approve them too. This is also known as adding a delegate and theyll have the same legal responsibilities as the approved person.
