Details

Every year, the Low Pay Commission (LPC) invites proposals for independent research to inform its work. This page collects the reports from projects which informed the LPCs 2022 Report.

The research published today includes:

  • A report from Incomes Data Research (IDR), who used a survey of 56 organisations employing nearly 1 million workers and 16 detailed case studies to study the influence of the National Living Wage (NLW) on pay setting, differentials and progression.

  • A report from London Economics investigating the impact of the reduction in the age of eligibility to the NLW from 25 to 23 on those newly eligible 23 and 24 year old workers.

  • A report from researchers at the University of Leeds, looking at the workings of the Accommodation Offset in the agricultural sector.
