The Appendix 4 (VAF4A) form must only be completed as part of an out of country refugee family reunion application.
Completing an Appendix 4 (VAF4A) form by itself is not a valid applicationfor refugee family reunion. You must complete the online application form on GOV.UK and the Appendix 4 (VAF4A) form to make a valid application for refugee family reunion.
If you have protection status in the UK, and your partner or child is outside the UK, they can apply online for refugee family reunion if they formed part of your pre-flight family unit.
Your partner or child cannot apply to join you under refugee family reunion if you:
- do not have protection status in the UK
- are a British Citizen
- have not received a decision on your asylum claim
- are under 18
If you, or your family members, do not meet the validity requirements under Appendix Family Reunion (Protection), you will need toapply for a different visa on the route which most closely matches your circumstances.
