Taking place ahead of International Womens Day next week and hosted by international accountancy firm Mazars LLP in their Edinburgh offices, today event will bring together Scottish businesswomen and female entrepreneurs from a range of industries. It will look at what worked for women who have set up their own businesses, how to help them grow, and how to encourage more female entrepreneurs.

Lord Dunlop said:

We have seen real progress in extending opportunity to women. There are now more women in employment, and more women-led businesses, than ever before. There isnt a single all-male board left in the FTSE 100, and the gender pay gap is at its lowest level since records began. But we know that there is more to be done.

This event will showcase some of the most innovative female entrepreneurs in Scotland, and share ideas and good practice in supporting women in business. I am very grateful to Mazars for hosting todays rountable as a major global firm, its really significant that they are keen to support this important issue in Scotland.

Fiona Martin, Audit Partner with Mazars in Edinburgh, said:

Developing female business talent is a priority for Mazars, and we are very pleased to be holding this event in partnership with the UK Government. We support a large number of women-led businesses to achieve success and business growth, and we have a number of in-house programmes to develop the talents of our own female staff.

Businesses represented at the event will include: Hot Tin Roof PR, Flexiworkforce, Equestrian Reviewer, Findra Cycle Clothing, Cherith Harrison Ltd, Commando Spirit, Humble Pie Food, ExecSpace, Bespoke & Contemporary Kilts, WeDo Scotland, Highland Hustle and Mama Tea.
