Part of the Office of the Public Guardians (OPG) role is safeguarding (protecting) people at risk of abuse or neglect. This includes investigatingsuspected abuse by:

  • deputies appointed by the Court of Protection
  • attorneys appointed under a registered lasting power of attorney (LPA)
  • attorneys appointed under a registered enduring power of attorney (EPA)

This document sets out OPGs safeguarding policy.
