Pay the LPA application fee online using a card

The quickest way to pay the lasting power of attorney (LPA) application fee is using a credit or debit card online. You can do this when you make your LPA online or after using a paper form.

Paying when you make an LPA online

If you use the Make a lasting power of attorney online service, you can pay by card as part of that service.

Paying when you make an LPA using a paper form (LP1F or LP1H)

On Section 14: Application fee, tick Card and enter your phone number, preferably a mobile number. Do not put your card or bank account details on the form.

We will send you a letter with your unique reference number and a web address where you can pay the fee online: www.gov.uk/payments/opg/fee.

If you have given us a mobile number, we will also send you a text message with the unique reference number for your LPA. You can click a link in the text message to go to the secure website for online payment. Youll need to enter the unique reference number, then use a credit or debit card to pay the fee.
