Please note: This practice note is being reviewed, and an updated version will be published in early 2023.

Tell the Office of the Public Guardian (OPG) if any of the following people has died:

  • the donor of a registered LPA or EPA
  • an attorney acting under a registered LPA or EPA
  • a replacement attorney
  • a deputy appointed by the Court of Protection
  • a person who lacks capacity and who has had a deputy appointed for them

This practice note explains how and when you should notify OPG.
