21 February: The OIM provided the report to the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs on 2 February 2023 and the Scottish Government, Welsh Government and Northern Ireland Executive on 21 February 2023. The report was published on 21 February 2023.

Request from the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs

4 August 2022: The OIM has accepted a request for a report from the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs in respect of a proposed regulation.

2 August 2022: The Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs wrote to the Office for the Internal Market (OIM) requesting that it provide a report, under section 34(1) of the UK Internal Market Act 2020, on the Secretary of States proposed regulation that will ban the sale of peat and peat containing products. This proposed regulation applies to England.

The OIM will aim to consider this request and decide as to whether to accept or decline it within the next 20 working days.
