Details

The Adults People and Nature Survey for England (A-PaNS) has been delivered by Natural England in its current form since 2020 and forms part of Natural Englands statutory function to inform evidence-based policy decisions on English residents (both adults and childrens) engagement with the natural environment, and to assess the impact of such engagement and changes through time.

Similar projects to monitor how people engage with the natural environment are delivered in Wales (The People and Nature Survey for Wales), Scotland (The Scottish People and Nature Survey) and Northern Ireland (The People in the Outdoors Monitor for Northern Ireland) and published independently by the public bodies responsible for collecting them.

This report provides users of these surveys with guidance about what comparisons may be made across these 4 different statistical products. It provides recommendations for future actions to improve comparability of data across the UK.

This report was commissioned by Natural England and produced by Katie Tiley and Dr. Jo Blodgett, Kohlrabi Consulting.
