The UKs 66.15 tonnes of quota will include 16 tonnes for recreational permitting schemes and 39 tonnes for a trial commercial fishery with the remainder used to UK commercial bycatch and tagging programmes.

The International Commission for the Conservation of Atlantic Tunas (ICCAT), the Regional Fisheries Management Organisation responsible for managing Atlantic BFT, has now endorsed the UKs plans.
