Health data science business Aridhia is leading a consortium of partners delivering a digital research platform to one of the Netherlands most prestigious university medical centres.

AnalytiXagility is Aridhias cloud-based data analysis platform built for biomedical research, precision medicine and healthcare communities. It was developed with support from Innovate UK.

The platform is the basis for the digital research environment that will be delivered to the Radboud University Medical Centre in a three-year deal.

It is the first university in the Netherlands to offer a digital research platform across the institution. AnalytiXagility will deliver a faster and streamlined workflow to all research projects via 1600 workspaces.

It will allow researchers to quickly extract value and meaning from data, improve collaboration, reduce risks to data security, reduce costs and ensure research can be reproduced and scaled up.

Contract will bring significant growth to business

Chris Roche, chief executive of Aridhia, said:

We are delighted to bring our AnalytiXagility platform into this venture. Radboud really understands the need for academic medical centres to adopt breakthrough technologies in order to accelerate the discovery of insights and increase institutional competitiveness.

Weve built a strong consortium of partners in the Netherlands with the intention of future-proofing institutions like Radboud, helping them to satisfy their researchers demands for access to the most innovative technologies and analytic tools, improve collaboration and maximise research impact.

Aridhia, founded in 2007, now employs 60 staff at its bases in Edinburgh and Glasgow. The new contract will lead to significant growth for the business and it expects to take on more data scientists, platform engineers and project managers.

It is delivering its services across UK and the continent including to the NHS, research organisations, life science companies, IT service providers and patients.

Supporting innovative ideas to commercialisation

Early development of the Aridhia platform was supported by an Innovate UK grant in 2013 and 2013.

Dr Ruth McKernan, chief executive of Innovate UK, said:

Were tremendously proud to have helped fund Aridhias original development of their AnalytiXagility platform 4 years ago. Their resulting growth and expansion into overseas markets exemplifies the role we play in supporting innovative ideas through to successful commercialisation.
