Simon Regis, Deputy Director at the Government Legal Department (GLD) has been awarded a CBE for services to legislation.

He joined the Civil Service in 1998 following his professional legal qualification and has worked in a number of different roles, including legal, policy and project management. More recently, he has supported the government in delivering essential legislation, including the Coronavirus Act 2020.

Simon said:

I am humbled by this recognition, which is not just about me but also equally applies to the fantastic colleagues I have worked with over the years. In more recent times, particularly those colleagues in the Department of Health and Social Care and the Department for Culture, Media and Sport Legal assisting in delivering legislation during the governments COVID-19 response.
