Participation measures are estimated by tracking pupil cohorts aged 15 as they progress into higher education. Information is available by:
- age (up to age 35)
- gender
- region
- level of study
- mode of study
A new methodology was introduced in the 2020 to 2021 edition of these statistics, which was explained in our letter about a temporary suspension for higher education participation national statistics to the Office for Statistics Regulation.
