The review indicates that the introduction of transparency rules, part of the Competition and Market Authority (CMA)s Funerals Market Investigation Order 2021 are having a constraining effect on funeral prices after many years of real-terms rises, meaning that costs paid by UK consumers for funeral services are likely to be lower as a result of the CMAs intervention.
