On 28 February 2023: The Subsidy Advice Unit (SAU) accepted a request for a report from the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ) concerning the proposed Energy Bills Discount Scheme for Energy and Trade Intensive Industries (EBDS-ETII).

On 13 April 2023 the SAU published its report, which includes SAUs evaluation of DESNZs assessment of compliance with the requirements set out in the Subsidy Control Act 2022.
