Details

These annual reports summarise the activities of the UK NRL for Trichinella and Echinococcus throughout the year. They cover:

  • core functions and duties of the national reference laboratory
  • trichinella external quality assurance (EQA) and proficiency testing (PT) scheme results
  • other NRL activities

The UK NRL for Trichinella and Echinococcus is responsible for:

  • diagnostic testing of pigs and wild boars for the zoonotic parasite Trichinella sp.
  • the UKs annual surveillance of the parasite Echinococcus multilocularis
