The Air Accidents Investigation Branch investigates civil aircraft accidents and serious incidents within the UK and its overseas territories and crown dependencies. Our purpose is to improve safety by establishing the causes of air accidents and serious incidents. From this, we make Safety Recommendations to help prevent reoccurrence. Our process for investigating and how we work as an organisation are outlined in this animation.
