Manchester seminar: Approaches to measuring impact - what can be done when circumstances are far from ideal (1 December, 2015)

Academy for Justice Commissioning

October 30
12:30 2015

featuring

Stephen Morris

Head of Evaluation & Insight, Public Service Transformation Network

This free seminar will explore the main approaches taken in the UK to understanding and describing the impact of interventions and programmes.

Stephen will commence with a review of study designs adopting a counterfactual approach particularly Randomised Controlled Trials (RCTs). He will also discuss some of the limitations of these approaches and highlight when and where they are most effectively deployed.

Finally, Stephen will review theory-based approaches as alternatives, including realist methods, and also suggest circumstances where these methods may be preferable.

For more details on this event and how to book please see the attached seminar flyer.
