Academy registers its 2,000th member

Paul joined the Academy on recommendation from a colleague and is looking forward to the launch of the academys services in the South West.

The Academy for Justice Commissioning was formed in September 2007 and is sponsored by the Ministry of Justice, National Offender Management Service and Legal Aid Agency.

The academy seeks to identify and promote excellence in social and justice commissioning and offers learning and development opportunities for public sector commissioners.Its services include events, new bulletins, a website hosting commissioning information, online commissioning learning tool, learning groups and opportunities to network, learn and share best practice with 2,000 members, all with an interest in commissioning.

Academy members are a cross-sector mix of all those interested in social justice commissioning and members come from the Ministry of Justice, the National Offender Management Service, the Legal Aid Agency, HM Prison Service, the National Probation Service, community rehabilitation companies, academics, providers, health, local and central government, police departments and voluntary, charitable and social enterprises.
