The Queen has been pleased to appoint Patrick Loudon McIain Stewart MBE LLB WS as Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant for Argyll and Bute to succeed Kenneth A MacKinnon CVO RD WS on his retirement.
Biographical Notes
Having graduated LLB from Edinburgh University in 1966, Mr Stewart has enjoyed a distinguished career in the legal profession principally in the West of Scotland. He has also had a close involvement with the Scottish fishing industry, serving latterly as Secretary to the Clyde Fishermen’s Association and currently as a Marine Environment Legislation Consultant to the Scottish Fishermen’s Federation. He has served as Vice Lord-Lieutenant in the Argyll and Bute Lieutenancy since 2002. Active in many local and voluntary organisations over the years, his main interests are rugby, sailing, youth work, maritime affairs, computing, travel and languages.
He is married to Mary Anne and they have 1 son and 1 daughter.
