Your council makes decisions about hedgerow notices.

You can appeal against a decision if theyve sent you either:

• a retention notice, saying you cannot remove a hedgerow
• a replacement notice, telling you to replace a hedgerow youve already removed

Theres no fee for appealing.

Deadline for appealing

You must appeal within 28 days of the date on the councils notice.

When you can expect a decision

Once your appeal is validated, youll normally get a decision within 31 weeks.
