Today, we have published our accident investigation report into the circumstances that led to the skipper of the fishing vessel Harriet J (AH180) being recovered unconscious from the water on 28 August 2021. He was working alone and shooting fishing gear at the time of the accident. The skipper was declared deceased later that morning after being airlifted to hospital.
A safety flyer to the fishing industry summarising the accident and detailing the safety lessons learned has also been produced.
