The Lord Chancellor is publishing revised guidance on civil legal aid funding in non-inquest cases.
The guidance was published on 9 June 2015 and is available on the exceptional funding pages on GOV.UK – see below.
It takes into account the conclusions of the Court of Appeal in the case of Gudanaviciene and others versus the Director of Legal Aid Casework and the Lord Chancellor.
Caseworkers
The guidance sets out some of the factors that caseworkers will need to take into account when looking at applications for exceptional funding.
So it should be useful to legal aid providers and potential claimants who are considering applying for exceptional funding.
It is issued by the Lord Chancellor under section 4 (3) of the Legal Aid, Sentencing and Punishment of Offenders Act 2012.
