If the Environment Agency provides a LRWP for an activity, you can carry it out without an environmental permit for a waste operation provided that you meet all the conditions.

The Environment Agency may review its LRWPs. It may decide the activity is no longer suitable for a LRWP or that the conditions need changing. You must regularly check that the LRWP you are benefiting from is still in place.

Miscellaneous LRWPsthat have been withdrawn

These LRWPs have been withdrawn as they are no longer required:

  • Storing and bagging spent mushroom compost: LRWP 15
  • Repairing, refurbishing and cleaning intermediate bulk containers (IBCs) formally used in the food industry: LRWP 67

  1. 'Repairing, refurbishing and cleaning intermediate bulk containers (IBCs) formally used in the food industry: LRWP 67' has been withdrawn as it is no longer needed.

  2. 'Storing and bagging spent mushroom compost: LRWP 15' has been withdrawn as it is no longer needed.

  3. Change made to 'Storing and treating used electrical insulating oil for reuse: LRWP 57': we have corrected a formatting error that made the waste codes in LRWP 57 appear without an asterisk for hazardous waste. All these waste codes now have an asterisk as they are all hazardous waste. Also change made to Recycling waste spectacles: LRWP 76: List of Waste code was 20 03 01 now 20 01 99.

  4. We have published a new low risk waste position - 'Storing and treating waste oyster shells: LRWP 78'.

  5. We have added 'Recycling waste spectacles: LRWP 76'.

  6. First published.
