The Better Regulation Delivery Office is offering financial support to pathfinder projects to explore innovative ways of applying the Regulators’ Code and encouraging collaboration between regulators and business.
Projects are normally short-term, collaborative and experimental in nature, and the overall aim is to identify growth-supporting initiatives that are productive, sustainable, and suitable for wider roll-out.
Provided under the Regulatory Innovation for Growth programme, grants will be awarded for projects that fit one of six categories:
•supporting business and economic growth
•engaging with the business community
•developing risk-based approaches to business support and interventions
•sharing information about compliance and risk
•providing information, guidance and advice
•promoting transparency in regulatory activities
Organisations with a direct role in regulating businesses or supporting the development of good practice within the regulatory community are eligible to apply.
BRDO will award up to £250,000 in a financial year, although individual grants will not normally exceed £20,000. Further details and the application form for grants in 2014-2015 are available on this site, together with helpful resources.
Applicants must submit their forms to BRDO at grants@brdo.bis.gsi.gov.uk by 17.00 on Thursday, 20 March 2014. No supporting documentation is required but BRDO may request further information during the selection process.
Optional question and answer sessions will be held for interested parties at BRDO’s offices in Birmingham on 10 and 21 February.
Projects can start at any point from 1 July 2014 but must be completed and evaluated no later than 30 June 2015.
