Permanent Secretary, Una O’Brien has written to all NHS Chief Executives and Directors of adult social services asking them to submit nominations for candidates for consideration for a UK Honour for New Year 2013.

She asked to hear about people who go the extra mile to make services work really well. This could include practice nurses, GPs, and dentists; physiotherapists and radiographers; receptionists and porters; laboratory staff; and fund-raisers, community organisers, and volunteers.

Read the letter Nominations for UK honours for New Year 2013 for further details.

Read further guidance on how to nominate or go to Directgov for more about the honours system.

The deadline for submitting all nominations is Wednesday 28 March.
