At a recent visit to South London and Maudsley in April 2016, Martha Lane Fox talked further about the need for wifi in hospitals and improving digital capabilities.
At the National Information Board (NIB) Leadership Summit on 8 December 2015, Martha Lane Fox presented her 4 recommendations for areas that should be prioritised to drive forward digital inclusion and take up of digital technologies.
Those recommendations were:
- providing free wifi through the NHS
- prioritising the hardest to reach groups in our digital work
- enabling the NHS workforce to support patients in using digital services
- promoting awareness and take up, specifically of online primary care services
