The Department for International Development (DFID) launched its new Statement of Priorities and Expectations for Suppliers today.
This clearly lays out our expectations of all suppliers who work with us to deliver programmes. They will be required to set out - in writing - exactly how they will ensure they deliver on their commitments.
This is part of the Secretary of State’s focus on getting better value for money in everything we do. The majority of DFID’s top twelve suppliers have already committed to this. Over the coming weeks we expect all suppliers to sign up.
The Secretary of State for International Development Justine Greening said:
Suppliers need to show they are delivering the very best value for taxpayers’ money in delivery of the development budget.
This Statement of Priorities and Expectations challenges suppliers to demonstrate that they are continually striving to improve the value for money they offer to DFID.
