A new animation has launched to address the over-representation of Black and Mixed Heritage children in the youth justice system. It highlights the dangers of adultification bias - where certain children are wrongly perceived as more adult-like - and encourages youth justice professionals to adopt better practices that lead to more positive outcomes.

The animation has been commissioned by the London Accommodation Resettlement Partnership which is funded by the Youth Justice Board and is aimed at supporting training, inductions and understanding across key sectors, promoting racial equity and fairness within youth justice.

Watch the animation to help challenge systemic bias and create a fairer youth justice system for all children.
