The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) has responded to the funeral director licensing scheme for Scotland consultation, led by the Scottish Government.
The CMAs response highlights the importance of putting the licensing regime on a statutory footing. The response also notes the proposed code of practice aligns with the findings and remedies set out in the CMAs funerals market investigation final report and Funerals Market Investigation Order 2021.
