Veterans UK website moves to GOV.UK

The Veterans UK website has been archived and most content has moved to GOV.UK. The move is part of the governments web strategy to bring all government websites together in one place.

Saved Veterans UK links or website addresses will automatically take users to the new information on GOV.UK, or the archived Veterans UK pages.

Why has the site moved?

The GOV.UK website has been created to improve public access to government services and information by putting them all in one place. Veterans UK is one of the government departments and organisations that have moved across.

The move means Veterans UK is in a much better position to improve services for veterans. For example, we hope that in the future claims for services such as the Armed Forces Compensation Scheme (AFCS), Armed Forces Pensions Scheme (AFPS) and War Pension Scheme (WPS) will be possible online. The GOV.UK site will also improve the visibility of veterans information to a much wider audience and will ensure all content meets the highest standards of accessibility for disabled users with specialist software and is optimised for viewing on mobile phones and tablets.

What will change?

Veterans are a unique part of the community; in recognition of this fact, Veterans UK has its own unique web address at www.GOV.UK/veterans-uk. This allows users to access content directly and will make navigation of our new pages easier. We hope this will lead to a more positive experience for the customer.

Information on the Veterans UK website has been re-written to reflect the GOV.UK style. Again, this has been done to improve the user experience and is grounded in significant research and testing with users. This will make the information clearer without altering the message.

For further information please email veterans-uk@mod.uk or call the Veterans UK helpline on 0808 1914218.
