From October 2019, Office for National Statistics (ONS) are responsible for publishing official statistics on the private rental market. ONS aim to develop these statistics to allow users to have a better understanding of the private rental market.

Statistics published by the VOA prior to October 2019 can be accessed on the Private rental market statistics page.

Weve grouped our official statistics into 2 topics:

Recent and upcoming publications

The release calendar shows the VOAs planned publication dates for the coming year. We encourage users to check this schedule regularly for revisions. Publication of our statistics happens at 9:30am on the stated day of release.

This list shows official and ad hoc statistics released recently or those planned to be released in the next few months. Updated in August 2020.

Ad hoc statistics

Publications made by the VOA that arent official statistics are released as ad hoc statistics. This includes:

  • experimental statistics
  • supplementary datasets related to our official statistics
  • data in support of the VOAs operational reporting
