Tim Davie is the Chief Executive of BBC Worldwide, and is responsible for developing the BBCs international brand and editorial strategy. He was previously Director of BBC Audio & Music (now known as Radio), which included overseeing the three BBC orchestras in England, the BBC Singers and the BBC Proms. Earlier in his career he was a Brand Manager for Procter and Gamble, and then Vice President (Marketing and Franchise) at PepsiCo Europe. He is Chair of Comic Relief, and co-chairs the UKTI Creative Industries Strategic Advisory Group.
Tates mission, laid down by the 1992 Museums and Galleries Act, is to promote public understanding and enjoyment of British, modern and contemporary art. Its responsibilities are to safeguard and enhance its assets, which include the collections, expertise in the collections and subject area, and the buildings. Tate seeks to spread the benefits of those assets by maximising access and developing value for visitors, satisfying stakeholders and by effective organisation and sound financial management. Tate Trustees are not remunerated.
