Extension to scheme

The Bus Recovery Grant (BRG) has been set up to support commercial bus operators in England?due to the ongoing impacts of coronavirus (COVID-19) on their revenue from reduced patronage.??
Who is eligible?
To claim the BRG, you must:
- Be a public bus operator running commercial or community bus services in England outside of the London and Greater Manchester areas.
- Have completed an application to join the BRG scheme - you cannot now apply to join the scheme and make claims.
- Meet the eligibility criteria for the Bus Service Operators Grant (BSOG).
- Currently be running at 90% or more of pre-COVID-19 mileage levels if your mileage is beneath this you must contact the Department for Transport at BRG@dft.gov.uk and your local transport authority (LTA).
How to claim
Operators should claim?the BRG for each 4-week period. You can now claim online for 27 October to 23 November 2021 (period 3) onwards.
To claim you will need to:
- Be an authorised representative of your operator, such as a transport manager or director.
- Enter your operator details, including BSOG reference.
- Enter your company registration number for limited companies.
- Enter your public service vehicle licence number for commercial operators or Section 22 number for community operators.
- Enter the scheduled live mileage, entered in kilometres, for each period you are claiming for that you agreed with your LTA.
- Enter details about any changes or re-registering of your timetable with the Office of the Traffic Commissioner from the previous period to the one you are claiming for.
- Enter details for your LTA, or LTAs.
- Convert into PDF your LTA agreement, either email or letter, and upload it to your application.
- Enter contact details for yourself and optionally a colleague.
Payment is discretionary and based on details you give us.
Reporting fraudulent activity
If you suspect that any form of fraud, bribery, theft or corruption is occurring as part of the governments Bus Recovery Grant, you must report it.

All reports will be managed in complete confidence.
History
This grant was set up as a successor scheme to the COVID-19 Bus Service Support Grant (CBSSG Restart) which ran from April 2020 to August 2021.
