Some hearings in Immigration and Asylum Chambers of the First-tier Tribunal or Upper Tribunal may take place via remote means (either by telephone or video). You will usually need to go to a court or tribunal building if you have been told that your hearing is to take place in person. If you would like to join a hearing via remote means you must contact the court or tribunal well in advance of the hearing date to make that request.

Parties and representatives will be informed as to the arrangements for hearing cases. Any other person interested in joining the hearing should contact the relevant hearing centre directly so that arrangements can be made.

Hearings of appeals and judicial reviews in the Upper Tribunal Immigration and Asylum Chamber (UTIAC) take place in courtrooms which are open to the public. This includes where the hearing is being conducted by remote means. (Different arrangements may apply for case management hearings.)

For details on attending a UTIAC remote hearing, please email uppertribunallistingteam@justice.gov.uk.
