Details

Use this form if you want to appeal because your vehicle did not pass its MSVA inspection and youre not satisfied with the decision.

The Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) must get your appeal within 14 days of your vehicle failing the inspection.

  1. Download and fill in the form.

  2. Save the form on your computer.

  3. Send the form to approvals@dvsa.gov.uk.

  4. Pay the appeal inspection fee by credit or debit card (DVSA will tell you how to do this after youve applied), or using a pre-funded account. It costs the same as the original test.

If your appeal is accepted, your vehicle will be re-examined by an independent inspector.

Do not modify or carry out any work on the vehicle before the appeal inspection. It could affect the outcome of the appeal if you do.
