Any new childminding assistants, people aged 16 or over who work or live in a home where youre childminding, or people making up the organisation also need to tell Ofsted about themselves so that we can carry out checks.

Childminders

As a childminder, you need to use the Childminders: report new adults in the home service to tell us about changes to names and addresses and any start or leave dates for:

  • childminding assistants
  • members of your household, such as a lodger, new partner or family member who has come to live with you

Childcare on non-domestic premises (daycare)

As the nominated individual, you must tell us about changes to names and addresses and any start or leave dates for:

  • anyone who makes up the organisation whose sole purpose is to provide early years childcare - this includes committee members, partners and directors
  • themselves
  • additional contacts

Anyone joining the daycare, in a relevant role, must apply to register with Ofsted.

  • any assistants or staff members who work with you
  • people in the home where you look after children
