Office Of The Public Guardian
Some professional deputies are called panel guardians. They are solicitors appointed to the panel by the Office of the Public Guardian.
Panel guardians manage the property and financial affairs of someone whose whereabouts are unknown and who is classed as a missing person.
Guardianship orders are made by the Family or Chancery Division of the High Court. One of these courts chooses a guardian from this list when no one else is willing or able to act as a guardian for someone whose whereabouts are unknown.
