The event, launched in 2011, is now believed to be the biggest event of its kind in Europe.

Meanwhile, the organisers are delighted to confirm that the UKs top civil servant, John Manzoni, has confirmed his attendance as the key guest speaker.

Mr Manzoni is Chief Executive of the Civil Service and Permanent Secretary of the Cabinet Office.

Ron Gorham, the NDAs Head of Supply Chain Optimisation and SME Champion, said:

I have worked for John in his capacity as Head of the Major Projects Authority, and again in supporting his role in growing the UK economy his wide-ranging knowledge and experience will bring a valuable additional dimension to the conference.

Last years event, organised jointly by the NDA and its Site Licence Companies, attracted a record 1,500 visitors and scored an overwhelming 97% success rating. This years theme is Delivering Success Together. The morning will feature a series of presentations, culminating in the annual awards ceremony that acknowledges the vital role of suppliers in driving decommissioning progress across the UK (the deadline for submitting entries has now closed).

Other speakers include:

  • John Clarke, Chief Executive, NDA
  • Rear Admiral Keith Beckett, Director of Submarines, Ministry of Defence (MOD)

Another focus of interest will be the central Innovation Zone in the main exhibition hall, where a range of new technologies will demonstrated during the afternoon.

A total of 250 businesses are exhibiting at the event, as well as the MOD and the governments export-driving Department for International Trade (DfIT).

The day brings together suppliers of all sizes with the organisations placing contracts, and provides excellent opportunities for informal face-to-face networking while showcasing the latest nuclear technologies. Unusually, the event is free of charge for both delegates and exhibitors, as the NDA recognises the importance the supply chain plays in meeting its mission, although a small fee is payable for optional extras such as lighting and electrical equipment.
