Guidance for obtaining UK MCA engineering fishing certificates of competency

Details

Fishing vessels over 750kW (approximately 1,005 HP) must carry two engineers:

  • a Chief Engineer holding a fishing class 1
  • a Second Engineer holding a fishing class 2

This is regardless of the vessels length, tonnage or area of operation.

The attached document contains guidance on the requirements and route to obtaining UK engineering fishing class 1 and 2 licences.
