Guidance: Questionnaire: continue your asylum claim

Complete this questionnaire if the Home Office asked you to. You can use it to tell us:

  • you still need a decision
  • any change in your circumstances
  • anything else important about your claim

Well use the information you give us to decide your asylum claim. Well arrange an interview if we need more details to make a decision.

You cannot use this questionnaire to make a new claim for asylum.

Eligibility

To use the questionnaire you must:

  • be an Iranian or Iraqi national
  • have claimed asylum in the UK before 28 June 2022
  • have received a letter from the Home Office asking you to complete the questionnaire
  • be over 18
  • be in the UK now
  • have access to email

If you claimed asylum in the UK on or after 28 June 2022, you do not need to do anything. Well contact you about the next steps of your asylum claim.

Filling in the questionnaire

Youll be asked:

  • your name, address and contact details
  • your 8-digit Case ID number (its in the letter we sent about the questionnaire)
  • your immigration adviser or solicitors details (if you have one)
  • your family members details
  • why you left your home country
  • to upload documents to support your claim

Enter all information into the questionnaire. Do not upload a covering letter.

If you send us a document which is not in English, you must provide a certified translation.

If you have previously returned a completed Preliminary Information Questionnaire (PIQ), please use this questionnaire to provide any additional or updated information.

Evidence you cannot send us

Do not upload:

  • videos
  • any content which is sexually explicit
  • any content which shows violence, severe injury, or death
