Guidance: Register to offer T Levels

Department For Education

March 27
08:30 2023

This guidance is for providers who are offering 16 to 19 study programmes.

Current T Level approved providers do not need to submit a registration form to provide T Levels for the 2025 to 2026 academic year.

Check your eligibility

Providers currently funded to offer 16 to 19 study programmes will be eligible to offer all T Levels from September 2025.

Providers who have a contract to provide apprenticeships or adult provision only, are not eligible to apply.

Complete the registration form

  1. Access the 2025 registration form through your DfE sign-in account. If youre not yet registered with DfE sign-in youll need to register first.

  2. Add the 2025 registration form to your account.

  3. Enter your UKPRN. This will be used to check that you have an Education and Skills Agency (ESFA) education and skills agreement or contract, and that youre funded to provide 16 to 19 study programmes from 2025.

Add the 2025 registration form to your account

You can do this by selecting:

  • edit services on my account from the related actions list
  • online collections service - including risk protection arrangements and then continue
  • 2025 T Level registration for providers planning to deliver T Levels from the 2025 to 2026 academic year role and then continue

Information well need

You need to provide us with information on:

  • any structural changes, or whether you have converted to academy status
  • the T Levels you plan to offer in the 2025 to 2026 academic year, and planned student numbers (an estimate is fine)
  • the T Level occupational specialisms youre interested in offering in the 2025 to 2026 academic year (an estimate is fine)
  • whether you plan to provide the T Level transition programme in the 2025 to 2026 academic year

To offer a T Level transition programme you must be planning to offer a T Level within the same T Level occupational route. T Level transition programme starts are not funded up-front. Instead, these students will be counted within the usual full-time lagged student numbers for study programmes. Find out more about how T Levels are funded.

Submit your registration form

When you submit the 2025 registration form, youll receive an email confirmation that it has been submitted.

Contact us through the ESFA enquiry form if you:

  • do not receive a confirmation email
  • have any technical issues when registering

Select the T Levels option and add T Levels 2025 to the query box, with your provider name and UKPRN.

Registration deadlines

Submit your 2025 registration form before midnight on 22 March 2024 to be eligible to receive an up-front funding allocation to support T Level delivery in the 2025 to 2026 academic year.

After this date, it will not be possible for you to be supported or funded up-front to offer T Levels in the 2025 to 2026 academic year. If you do recruit T level students as an unregistered T Level provider and have a 16 to 19 funding contract, youll be funded through the 2025 to 2026 in-year growth process, subject to affordability.

If you submit before midnight on 28 July 2023 you may also be eligible to:

  • access implementation planning support to prepare for T Level delivery in the 2025 to 2026 academic year
  • be considered for a future wave of the buildings and facilities improvement grant that may be available to support delivery in 2025

At whatever point you register, youll be able to get access to:

Well contact you approximately one month after you apply to confirm the outcome of your T Level application. If you have informed us of a structural change, it may take slightly longer to process your application. All approved T Level providers will be required to complete the bi-annual T Level data collections in 2024.

T Levels available

24 T Levels are available within 12 routes for teaching in the 2025 to 2026 academic year.

Each T Level has a broad range of content relevant to the sector and the option to choose an occupational specialism. Occupational specialisms are specific areas of study that providers and students might focus on after they have completed core learning.
