National Statistics: A level and other 16 to 18 results: 2023 (revised)

Revised information on the overall achievement of students at the end of their 16 to 18 study in England by the end of the 2022 to 2023 academic year.

For schools and colleges this includes:

  • A levels and other academic level 3 qualifications
  • applied general and tech levels at level 3
  • technical certificate qualifications at level 2

Other data covers achievements of students in England aged 16 to 18 within the 2022 to 2023 academic year. This includes:

  • English and maths qualifications below level 3

Key headline statistics are broken down by:

  • student characteristics
  • institution type
  • region
  • local authority

For multi-academy trusts (MATs), data covers attainment in level 3 academic and applied general qualifications, broken down by:

  • student characteristics
  • academy type
  • MAT characteristics (MAT size, number of years an academy has been part of a MAT)

We published provisional figures for the 2022 to 2023 academic year in November 2023. The revised publication incorporates amendments that awarding organisations, schools or colleges submitted to the department after August 2023. We added retention statistics to this statistical release in April 2024.
