Details

The government has made tutoring a priority following the COVID-19 pandemic in order to help pupils to catch up. Tutoring can be particularly helpful for children and young people from disadvantaged backgrounds, who have been most affected by the disruption to their education.

The Department of Education (DfE) asked Ofsted to carry out an independent review of tutoring in schools and 16 to 19 providers. This includes assessing the progress and, where possible, the effectiveness of the governments National Tutoring Programme and the 16 to 19 tuition fund. The focus of this review is set out more fully in theterms of reference.
